Car Rental Lisbon offers an excellent way of exploring this splendid region of Portugal. A low cost Car Rental Portugal Airport quote can be obtained from this website today.

Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal, is among the least publicised “city break” cities in Europe. Yet despite this apparent lack in tourist marketing, Lisbon is one of Europe’s most beautiful cities and has a unique, exotic high quality that conjures up impressions of far away locations from Portugal’s colonial past. A city break vacation in Lisbon provides sufficient time to go to most of the key tourist attractions.

Visit the Castle of St George at the heart of Lisbon’s Alfama district, the oldest and most picturesque part of the city. The castle, like so many on the Iberian peninsula, is of Arab origin. It’s situated on the top of one of the highest of Lisbon’s many hills. The castle was taken by the Christians from the Moors in the twelfth century. It still retains its strong, outer walls, various defensive buildings, eleven towers and also the former Moorish palace that became the residence of the Kings of Portugal between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries. The castle is such an atmospheric place that you will be content just to wander around its enchanting gardens, stopping to peer out from the ramparts over the panorama of red roofs, or to merely sit and listen to a guitarist expertly playing intoxicating melodies within the courtyard below us.

Sintra makes for another great stop. Even though Sintra is part of the district of Lisbon, its a town in its own right and takes about 30 minutes on the local train to get to from Lisbon if you are not using a Lisbon Rental Car service. It is merely one of the most stunning areas in Europe and holds world heritage status.

It is an area packed with things to do and sights to be in awe of. Its as if the very landscape from the location has been remodelled into art. The former summer palace from the Portuguese monarchs is located here. It was built within the fourteenth century and later extended. Many of its rooms are quite outstanding and the palace constantly proclaims reminders of the splendour and opulence of Portugal’s imperial past.

There’s another palace in Sintra that absolutely demands the tourists’ attention and their camera. It’s called the Pena Palace Standing at an altitude of one and a half thousand metres, this 19th century building with its pink and yellow towers, domes, and drawbridges is the stuff of fairy tales, Disney, and fantasy fiction.

Faro is one of those locations that somehow manages the effortless co- existence of a modern and fresh atmosphere while still maintaining it’s quaint older elements in a way that when there, you feel as though you could have gone back in time. There are an abundance of flight options available to Faro Airport.

With its excellent balance of museums, conventional landscape and architecture with all the night clubs and trendy bars that have developed out of the successful university this city really has a lot to offer. Opening hours are a lot more laid back in Portugal and you’ll frequently find that the clubs will only begin to liven up around midnight, so it is worth taking your time and heading out a little later to get the most from your night out.

You won’t be disappointed if you are coming for sun, sea and sand either, Faro not only has it’s own beach, but there are regular boats that can take you to other close by coastlines with yet more and more sand. There’s hardly a spot by the sea in this well-known town where you can not hire a speedboat, Jet Ski or be dragged on some kind of inflatable, so should you want to wake yourself up after all that sunbathing you certainly have options.

Should you choose to stay in Faro you will be subject to lots of tempting shopping. Apart from the usual fashion stores you are able to find some real bargains within the heart of Faro in Rua Santo Antonio and the Rua Francisco Gomes. Here you can browse some traditional Portuguese wares for example handcrafted bags, ceramics and clothing. You will be surprised just how well the locals manage to combine modern fashion with the conventional styles of the country. The perfect way to become a trendsetter!

Due to Faro not being far away from the rural parts of Portugal you can very easily combine a city break with day trips to the a lot more conventional parts of the country which is easily done with a Faro Airport Car Hire service. These are just some examples of what you can do if you decide to stay in this busy and varied town, so be sure to check on the internet for a lot more information.

Regardless of whether it’s a fun filled city break within the hustle and bustle of Lisbon or a leisurely golfing holiday within the Algarve, Portugal has long been one of the world’s best 20 holiday destinations. Blessed with stunning organic beauty and year-round sunshine, Portugal provides crystal clear seas and a wealth of activities to suit even the most discerning world travellers.

The Portuguese coastline is a holidaymaker’s dream. Frequently hailed as one of the best golf destinations in the globe, high-end resorts and top class courses sit side by side with an abundance of health and wellness spas that make the most of the scenery and tranquility all around..

For the adventurous, Portugal offers some of Europe’s greatest deep-sea fishing as well as each kind of water sport an enthusiastic tourist could dream of. But it is where the ‘rolling plains end in unspoilt beaches’ that’s the real attraction. The Portuguese coastline boasts nearly two hundred Blue Flag beaches, numerous hidden from the primary tourist trails by sheltered coves or decorated by countless colourful boats in picturesque fishing villages like Sesimbra – which also doubles as the fashionable weekend retreat of ‘well to do’ Lisbon families.

Alongside all the sunshine, beaches and activities – not to mention the glorious climate – Portugal’s history and heritage can nearly be overlooked. Almost. From its Moorish legacies to modern day Lisbon, Portugal combines the past and also the present with a timeless elegance. Whether you’re a history buff or simply in need of some old world culture, you are able to choose from UNESCO Globe Heritage sites like the magical cliff best village of Sintra or merely take in the quiet charms of historic towns like Guimarães, Évora or Angra do Heroísmo.

More than anything, it’s the pull of a more sedate and relaxed pace of life that bewitches visitors and keeps bringing them back for a lot more. Perhaps it is no wonder that over a third of Portugal’s tourists hail from the UK with numerous people choosing the laid back lifestyle of evening strolls on the promenade at Sesimbra or the café terraces of Porto as ideal holiday house destinations.

Given all that Portugal has to provide it’ll come as no surprise to know that tourist figures have risen dramatically more than the last decade – extending well beyond the conventional Algarve destinations. Portugal is almost uniquely blessed by the perfect climate and stunning natural beauty but it provides a lot more than just golf resorts and beach holidays. Even the government’s plans for the promotion of tourism in Portugal realise what makes ‘Europe’s west coast’ so special.

We offer low cost Car Hire Estoril deals throughout the year. If you plan on visiting this summer then start planning as soon as possible.

Lisbon is a great area of Portugal to go on holiday and stay in holiday homes. There is an excellent selection of holiday rentals in this area of Portugal to stay in as self catering holiday accommodation. Holiday villas, cottages, farmhouses and holiday cottages are a great form of holiday accommodation popular with families staying near the Lisbon Coast.

Boasting spring time temperatures during winters and a summer freshened by breezes blowing from Atlantic, the Lisbon Coast on the south-western side offers an impressively rich and integrated diversity of climate. Radiant skies are brightening this monumental city, it has typical building facades covered with tiles and the medieval streets are narrow. The city of Lisbon can also be a stage for famous festivals, exciting nightlife, exquisite shopping and interesting museums.

The first activity you can do in this area of Portugal when staying in holiday rentals would be to go to its fabulous beaches. Praia do Guincho, Carcavelos beach and the beach at Belem are one of the most popular ones for surfers. When there, don’t forget to visit Costa da Caparica. The towns of Cascais, Sintra and Estoril are packed with 20th century eccentricity and glamour. Cascais is well-known for its nightlife and dining and Sintra is an amazing place to visit.

The second thing you can do while on the Lisbon Coast would be to sample its nightlife. There are many superb restaurants, night clubs, casinos and dance bars in and around Lisbon. Estoril casino is considered one of the greatest casinos in Europe and is a well-liked attraction with many tourists who visit. You can have great fun at many of the resorts dotted along the Lisbon coast. Small village fiestas are also frequently conducted around here, that provide communal outdoor eating, local orchestras and conventional dancing.

You will be able to explore the country life and culture of Portugal. Also look out for the conventional Fado music and cosmopolitan nightlife of Lisbon. There are several trendy attractive and small scale bars within the old-fashioned neighborhood which are easily accessible from the Lisbon coast. The third most popular activity in this region of Portugal is enjoying its water cativities including surfing which has a great reputation within the area. The magnificent beaches of the Lisbon Coast are a great treat for surfing lovers.

There are a number of resorts that supply surfing training to beginners. This region of Portugal also has water sports for example sailing and wind surfing. It’s also an excellent location for activities such as fishing and canoeing on lakes and rivers. You can also go deep sea fishing, river canoeing and on cruises. The fourth activity that you’ll love to do here is enjoying its natural beauty. You are able to go to the Tejo estuary reserve and have a great walking and bird watching experience. Walking and horse riding in the Sintra-Cascais and Arrabida national parks and within the Sintra National forest can also be well worth doing.

Compare the cost of our Car Hire Porto offers today. Most people will be arriving into the airport where there are plenty of cheap Porto Airport Car Hire vehicles available.

Porto is perhaps most well-known for Port wine, which is produced and shipped from this region. You can find about sixty wine establishments in the city area, and you can very easily discover tours and tastings. With a population of over two hundred and twenty thousand, Porto is located in the north west part of Portugal and is its second largest city. Porto is known as the financial, economic and cultural heart of the entire northern Portugal region.

The center of town has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as you can find numerous old architectural wonders. The region is best explored by foot, starting with the Cathedral of Porto which was constructed between 1110 and completed in the following century. It is regarded to be one of one of the most important Romanesque monuments in Portugal. An additional Romanesque structure of note is the small Church of Cedofeita, built between the 12th and 13th centuries. The neoclassical 19th-century Stock Exchange Palace is also a marvelous structure where you can get a guided tour. Right next door sits the Church of St. Francis, which was built originally in 1383 and added to until its completion in 1425. It’s considered the finest Gothic structure in Porto.

Porto features a tangle of charming winding lanes that work steeply down to the waterfront. Along the way, many from the oldest buildings in the city are crumbling and are actually at risk of collapsing. Down by the waterfront there is a markedly medieval look and feel, and also the riverside has an old globe enchantment with archways, alleyways and lively atmosphere.

There are several culinary specialties in Porto, most notably Tripes Porto Style, otherwise known as tripe soup, and the Francesinha, the most well-known popular snack food which is really a special sandwich with several various meats and cheese and a beer sauce. You simply must try it if you are a meat lover! And by all means have some Port wine.
